May 4 — A Killer’s Confession is giving audiences their first preview of its new album.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Tongue‘ and its companion video Thursday. The single is featured in the band’s new album, Victim 1. The album’s release date and other information is under consideration.
According to front man Waylon Reavis, the album is a concept record of sorts that centers on a vigilante who has split personality disorder. In the first single, the vigilante is so violent that he takes vengeance into his own hands in a very violent fashion. That fashion is presented in rather explicit fashion as the man’s tongue is nailed to a board before being cut from his mouth.
The video warns of explicit content before it begins, and this is the explicit content in question.
The musical arrangement featured in the new single is an intense composition. Reavis’ unique vocal delivery style, what with its mix of half-whispered vocals, screams, and cleaner vocals in the chorus, pairs with the song’s heavy instrumentation to make it comparable to works from Slipknot.
A Killer’s Confession released its latest album, Remember in 2021. It was preceded by The Indifference of Man in 2019 and Unbroken in 2017. The band premiered its cover of Sepultura’s hit single, ‘Roots Bloody Roots‘ in February, along with a companion video.
