May 5 — Independent rock band S.O.R.M. premiered its new single and video this week.
The band unveiled its new single, ‘I Die For My Rock ‘N’ Roll‘ Friday, along with the song’s companion video. The song is the first single from the band’s forthcoming debut album, which is expected for release later this year through Noble Demon. The album’s title and other details are under consideration.
The musical arrangement featured in S.O.R.M.’s new single is a completely engaging composition, what with its classic rock-infused approach and sound. The 80s hair metal sounds and even the comparisons to works from the likes of Andrew W.K. are at the heart of that appeal. The arrangement features a guest appearance by Dee Snider band guitarist Nick Petrino.
According to a statement from the band, the song’s lyrical theme is meant to be just as uplifting as its musical arrangement.
“I die for my rock n roll,” the statement reads. “The song is a statement. Never give up on your dreams no matter what. Don’t let anyone make that decision for you. In the long run it’s not worth it. So remember, follow your dreams!”
The video for S.O.R.M.’s new single is just as fun as the song and its uplifting lyrical theme. It finds the band largely in the back of a limousine, presenting its new single as the song plays over the visualization.
