May 12 — Dropkick Murphys released its latest record Friday.
The record came in the form of its new collection, Okemah Rising. As with its 2022 record, This Machine Still Kills Fascists, the album takes lyrics written by legendary folk singer Woody Guthrie and sets them to the band’s own original musical arrangements.
Along with its release, the band also released the record’s single, ‘Bring It Home‘ Friday. The song features guest vocals from Jamie Wyatt. The story told in this song’s lyrics is of a woman who gets fed up with her husband’s lack of attention and as a result, leaves him in the end. The band’s familiar celtic punk style arrangement couples with the lyrical content to make the song all the more engaging and entertaining.
