June 2 — Independent punk rock outfit Strike Twelve is giving audiences yet another preview of its forthcoming album, Last Band Standing as the weekend kicks off.
The band premiered the album’s new single, ‘Baseball Bat‘ and its companion video Friday. The song is the album’s third behind the most recently released single, ‘Smart Phones, Stupid People,’ and the album’s lead single, ‘Watch It Burn.’
The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single continues the skate punk sound and style that is presented through each of the album’s other songs. The difference in sound is minute enough that only those who fully immerse themselves in each song will catch the subtle differences.
The lyrical theme featured in the new single is a commentary on the things people feel and think as they allow negative thoughts and emotions to build inside them, according to guitarist Matty T.
“‘Baseball Bat’ involves a violent physical release caused by prolonged emotional suppression,” Matty T said. “Sometimes I just can’t bite my tongue any longer and before I open my big mouth it’s better to physically exert myself.”
In other news, Strike Twelve has also announced a handful of live dates. The first of those dates is June 30 in Murrieta, CA. The band’s new live dates are listed below:
