
June 6 — Two decades have passed since The Darkness released its debut album, Permission To Land.
To mark the occasion, the band announced Monday, it will launch a tour in support of the anniversary in October with a roughly two-week-long tour. The tour is scheduled to launch Oct. 3 in San Francisco, CA and to run through Oct. 22 in Washington, D.C. Ticket pre-sales are open now here and general ticket sales are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. local time Friday.
According to information in a news release distributed Monday, the band’s concerts will feature performances songs not only from the band’s debut album, but also from other albums from the band in what it has dubbed a Best of the Rest” set.

In addition to the tour, the band is also set to celebrate the anniversary of the release of its debut album with a re-issue of the record in an expanded deluxe pressing titled Permission To Land…Again. Its release date is under consideration.
