July 7 — Singer-songwriter Marc Ribler unveiled the first song from his new project, Marc Ribler’s Story Road this week.

The song came Friday in the form of the socially conscious composition, ‘Armageddon.’ Ribler released the song through Wicked Cool Records. The song’s musical arrangement is a catchy pop rock style composition that harkens back to some of the sounds of the 1950s and even 1960s what with its light backbeat and infectious guitar line and vocal harmonies.

Ribler discussed the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“Looking back, the past few years seemed like the perfect launch pad for Armageddon…Or at least a zombie apocalypse or 2,” Ribler said. “It felt that way to many of us. I am so incredibly thankful for music, rock n roll in particular, as a sanctuary to worship and channel all of life’s joy, sorrow, pain and bliss. Let’s keep basking in that light my friends.”

Along with premiering the new single, Ribler also premiered a video to accompany the song. The animated presentation takes on the Russian invasion of Ukraine (with a less than happy ending for Vladimir Putin). There are also images of people praying and other visuals that are presented as the song plays over the collection visualization.

Ribler’s new single is his first new music since the release of his solo record, The Whole World Awaits You, which was also released in 2021 through Wicked Cool Records.
