July 21 — Veteran underground rock band Blacklist Union returned this week with a new single and video.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Dirty Halo‘ and the song’s companion video Friday. The song is featured in the band’s forthcoming album, Letters From The Psych Ward, which is scheduled for release in September. The record’s exact release date is under consideration.
The song’s musical arrangement is an engaging composition that blends elements of southern rock and some glam/sleaze influence for a unique work. The whole, balanced, makes the song fully engaging.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the premiere of the song and its video. The lyrics provided with the video hint at the theme being that of perseverance and determination. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
The video that accompanies the new single is a simple presentation in its own right. It features the band performing its new single on a specially designed sound stage complete with pyro. The visual is meant to give viewers something of a live feel from the band.
