Sevendust Debuts Video For New Album’s Fourth Single, ‘Superficial Drug’

July 25 — Veteran hard rock outfit Sevendust is scheduled to release its latest album, Truth Killer Friday through Napalm Records and in anticipation of its release has premiered the video for the record’s fourth single.

The band debuted the video for its new single, ‘Superficial Drug‘ Tuesday. The song is the album’s fourth single behind ‘Holy Water,‘ ‘Everything,‘ and ‘Fence‘. The video is another familiar style presentation, featuring the band performing its new single on a darkened sound stage, with just enough lighting and various video editing effects to heighten the emotion of the song’s brooding, contemplative sound and sense.

Speaking of the song’s arrangement, that brooding nature exhibited in the song’s arrangement is such that it will prove very familiar to audiences in its own right. The contemplative nature and style has been there throughout so much of the band’s catalog, most notably in its 2010 album, Cold Day Memory.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme. Lyrics are not provided with the video, either.

In other news, Sevendust announced more new live dates last month in support of Truth Killer. The band’s new dates are on the “Machine Killer Tour” with Static-X, Dope and Lines of Loyalty. The band’s upcoming run on the “Machine Killer Tour” starts Oct. 6 in Houston, TX and is set to run through Nov. 1 in Los Angeles, CA. It includes stops in cities, such as Gary, IN; Greensboro, NC and Tempe, AZ.

Prior to that, the band will join Alter Bridge, MammothWVH and MJT Band Aug. 1 through 31. All of the band’s tour dates are noted below. Tickets for each date are available here.
