Dec. 1 — Up and coming metal outfit Ancient Settlers debuted its latest single and companion video this week.

The band debuted its new single, ‘Into The Depths I Ride‘ and its video Monday. The song features a driving, guitar-centered arrangement. The contrast of the song’s heavier verses and more melodic metal style approach in its choruses makes for an interesting overall presentation that will appeal to fans of the technical death metal genre.

According to information provided about the debut of the band’s new single and video, the song’s lyrical theme, “describes the exploration of our more obscure feelings, and an introspective view of the dark side of the human mind.”

The video for ‘Into The Depths I Ride’ is an amalgam of footage taken from the band’s time on the road and out and about in general. There is footage of the band on stage, enjoying a meal at a restaurant, and recording in the studio throughout the video’s presentation.

In other news, Ancient Settlers is working on its as yet untitled sophomore album, which will release through Crusader Records/Golden Robot Records. Grammy award winning producer and Dream Evil guitarist Fredrik Nordstrom (Arch Enemy, In Flames, HammerFall) is handling the record’s production while Daniel Cardoso (Anathema, Anneke Van Grisbergen) is handling mixing and mastering.
