Bret Michaels to bring Parti-Gras 2 Back to his Hometown of Central PA September 14th, 2024
Bret Michaels, lead singer of Poison is bringing his solo Parti-Gras 2 tour back to his hometown of Central PA. Michaels brought Parti-Gras 1 to The Penn Heroes Stage at the Hollywood Casino in Grantville PA last August, and what a night of fun, music, and fireworks it was. He promised that night that he would bring a bigger more elaborate version back this year, and he is delivering on that promise. Today, Bret held a live, virtual press concert to announce that Parti-Gras 2.0 will closeout the summer concert series at Penn Heroes Stage on Saturday, September 14th! He is raising the bar this year by bringing Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray with him. This will be the first time ever that Bret, Dee, and Mark, who all share the same birthday (March 18) also share the stage! Special guests Great White and Sugar Ray round out the line-up. Watch for more hometown surprise guests to be announced prior to the show! When asked how he determines to to invite to share the stage, Bret shared that his philosophy is that music should unite us, never divide us. Thus, he loves bringing multiple genres together on stage for "Nothing But a Good Time"! He hinted that the finale this year will be even bigger than last year and will again include an awesome fireworks display. After the show, join the bands up at the Casino to continue the party! He shared that his most memorable moment last year was the finale when all the musicians that played that evening came together on stage for a final party with beach balls floating throughout the crowd and ending with spectacular fireworks.

Shallow Side Shows It Is Ready To Break Out With Its New LP, ‘Reflections’
Independent hard rock band Shallow Side released its latest album earlier this month. The release of the new album, Reflections (the band’s third album) came July 19, almost two years after the band unveiled its lead single, ‘The Worst Kind.’ That single and its follow-ups – ‘You’re The Reason’ and ‘Filters’ (which collectively make up the album’s first three tracks) – are good examples of the role that the album’s musical and lyrical content play in the album’s overall presentation. They are just some of the songs that serve to show the role of that collective content to make Reflections worth hearing. ‘Antilight,’ which comes much later in the album’s run, is one more example of the noted strength. It will be discussed shortly. ‘No One Wins,’ another later entry, continues to exhibit the important role of the album’s overall content and will be examined a little later. Joining that duo is the likes of ‘Over,’ which is part of the album’s first half. It will also be examined later. When it is considered alongside the other songs noted here, its existing trio of singles and the rest of the album’s entries, the whole therein makes Reflections a record worth hearing at once and a welcome addition to this year’s field of new independent albums.
