Check Out Accept

Review By: Aaron Berwinkle

Accept Live, Loud, On a Saturday Night at the King Of Clubs Columbus, Ohio

This show took me back to 1984 hearing Accept from a Radio Broadcast at the Agora in Cleveland Ohio. That night hearing songs like Fast As A Shark, Balls To The Wall, London Leatherboys, Princess Of The Dawn for the first time and was wondering who this German band called Accept was. Fast forwarded 38 years from that year. The band has gone thru personnel changes however lead singer Mark Tornillo can still belt out the old tunes. Along with original guitarist Wolf Hoffmann, Phillip Shouse guitar, Uwe Louis guitar, Martin Motnik bass, and the thundering double kick on the drums of Christopher Williams put on a heck of show for the near capacity audience. The band played 4 new songs from their latest album Too Mean To Die. Those songs were Zombie Apocalypse, Symphony Of Pain, Overnight Sensation and The Undertaker, mixed in with classics like Restless And Wild, London Leatherboys, Midnight Mover, Son Of A B*tch, Breaker, Princess Of The Dawn, Fast As A Shark, Metal Heart, Balls To The Wall and ending the show with I’m A Rebel. Which was originally written by Bon Scott of AC/DC that was never released. This stop here in Columbus was the final date of the current US tour. Was the show perfect no, at times some of vocals were drowned out by the guitars, but I still closed my eyes listening to those tunes that got me into Accept and I was signing right along with the audience. The opening acts were Narcotic Wasteland, Corrosive Vengence and Day Of The Sun.
