April 22 — Independent hard rock band DramaScream debuted its latest single and video to kick off the weekend.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Sham‘ and the song’s video Friday. The song is a heavy, melodic hard rock composition that exhibits influence from Breaking Benjamin, Stone Sour, and so many other modern rock acts. Front woman Lauren Eliza’s singing is a unique change of pace in a community in which so many female vocalists seem more directed toward screams than singing.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the premiere of the band’s new single and video. No lyrics are provided with the song’s video, either. The visual of Eliza being covered in $100 bills at some points in the video would seem to hint that there is a message perhaps corporate greed and consumerism. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
Speaking of the video, the noted element is blended with footage of the band performing its new single in a specially lit soundstage as the song plays over the visualization to add to the song’s impact.
