Jinjer Debuts ‘Mediator’ Video; Maps Out Fall/Winter Tour

July 28 — Jinjer premiered the video for its latest single this week.

The band premiered the video for its new single, ‘Mediator’ Wednesday. The song is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album, Wallflowers, which is scheduled for release Aug. 27 through Napalm Records. Its premiere comes more than a month after the band premiered the video for the album’s lead single, ‘Vortex.’

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Mediator’ is completely different from that featured in ‘Vortex.’ Where ‘Vortex’ presents a more melodic metal approach at its core, ‘Mediator’ is a more intense, death metal style composition. That is evidenced in the intense guitar work, drumming and screams.

The band discussed the approach that it took to the song’s musical arrangement as well as the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“With years getting older, we often realize that the world around us is far from what we expected it to be,” the statement reads. “Through the eyes of a kid everything seemed way more colorful, better and optimistic, didn’t it? When did it all turn wrong? When did it all turn so gray? Is this really the world’s fault? Or it is only about us chasing the wrong goals… the wrong careers, ambitions and achievements, rather than embracing one important truth… Rephrasing John Lennon, if one chases something else other than happiness, then they didn’t understand life at all …”

In other news, Jinjer is scheduled to launch an extensive tour in support of Wallflowers Oct. 22 in Seattle, WA. The tour is scheduled to run through Dec. 12 in Phoenix, AZ and features performances in cities nationwide, such as Charlotte, NC; Cleveland, OH and San Diego, CA.
