Sept. 24 — Madame Mayhem returned Friday with her latest single.

The singer-songwriter (a.k.a. Natalie Ann Cohen) debuted her new single, ‘I Am More‘ and its companion video Friday. The song comes more than seven months after Cohen debuted her then latest single, ‘Cruel Heart‘ and its companion video.

The musical arrangement featured in Cohen’s new single is a heavy, melodic hard rock style composition. Cohen’s balance of clean vocals and occasional guttural screams pairs with the heavy instrumentation to make the overall arrangement an instantly infectious composition.

The lyrical theme that accompanies the song’s musical arrangement is meant to deliver an uplifting message promoting self-confidence, according to a statement from Cohen.

“‘I Am More’ is very much about self empowerment, standing up for yourself and telling the world not to underestimate you,” she said. “It’s a song that really gives confidence. We are all stronger than we know”

The video for ‘I Am More’ features Cohen and her band mates performing the new single in a darkened studio setting. It blends that with a presentation of Cohen sitting at a table, singing at an unidentified figure, telling that person that she is better than that person thinks. The visualization is meant to illustrate and translate the noted lyrical theme.
