Feb. 23 — Independent rock band Messer premiered the video for its latest single this week.
The video for ‘Hope In This World’ features the band performing its new single on a soundstage as two separate stories play out. The first focuses on a military veteran who is having a hard time dealing with the emotional and mental impacts of his time in combat. He is battling his demons with pills and alcohol while clearly contemplating suicide.
The second story focuses on a successful female doctor. Despite her successful career, she is in fact quite insecure just beneath the surface. The stories each have a happy ending that will be left for audiences to discover for themselves. The band’s new single plays over the collective content.
The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is an infectious composition. Its rich overall instrumentation and vocals makes the song an easy fit for any active rock radio programmer’s playlist.
The song’s lyrical theme is meant to deliver a positive, uplifting message, the band said.
“Our new single was born out of the pandemic. We couldn’t just sit here and do nothing. We have a platform and we are compelled to use it for good” says the band. “One of the most powerful things you can give someone is hope. We live in a world more divided than ever, making it hard to see a way for us to find a place of peace and harmony. ‘Hope In This World’ is a song about bridging the gap between us that seems to be growing every day. The core message of this song is helping people find hope despite the negativity. It’s easy to get trapped in boxes of belief and confusion. This song is about the lifeline we cling to for change, the light at the end of the tunnel.”
