April 13 — Rip Room debuted yet another single from its latest album this week.

The band premiered its new single, ‘Loose Ends’ Wednesday through Consequence. The song is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album, Alight and Resound, which is scheduled for release May 27 through Spartan Records. Pre-saves and pre-orders are open.

The band premiered the album’s lead single, ‘Worth Repeating’ in January through New Noise magazine. A companion video followed last month through The Alternative.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Loose Ends’ will appeal to any punk purist. It is a bass-driven composition whose half-sung/half screamed vocals and guitars present a distinct DIY garage punk style approach and sound.

The song’s lyrical theme is a political statement about former President Donald Trump, said front man John Reed.

“Writing during the Trump era, it was hard to resist the urge to write exclusively about what a monster he is,” Reed said. “Temptation got the best of me on our song ‘Loose Ends.’ One of the scariest things about that time was getting desensitized to the crazy shit coming out of his mouth day after day … heartless and nonsensical, but calculated. And to what end?”
