Jan. 26 — Independent punk rock band Rip Room premiered its latest single this week.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Worth Repeating’ Wednesday through New Noise magazine. The song is featured in the band’s forthcoming album, Alight and Resound. The record is scheduled for release May 27 through Spartan Records.
The musical arrangement featured in the new single is a punchy, DIY-style composition. Its garage rock approach will appeal to a wide range of audiences, not just punk purists. The light mood that the arrangement presents works with the mood intended through the album’s overall lyrical content.
Front man John Reed talked about that theme in its connection with this song in a prepared statement.
“The title of the record is a lyric from the song ‘Get On In The World,’ which is in part about frustration and not really fitting in,” said Reed. “Everyone’s focused or too wrapped up in their own s*** and sadly this too often devolves into misunderstandings, at best, and violence, at worst. Alight and Resound is like a plea — move to a different plane of understanding and empathy or else we’re f*****.”
