Feb. 21 — Independent punk rock band Rules of Enragement is working to release its new album this year.

The band is hoping to release its new album, Kill The Masters this year. In anticipation of the record’s release, the band premiered the lyric video for the album’s lead single, ‘Underground Guy‘ Friday. The video features the song’s lyrics in various graffiti style fonts as the song plays over the visualization.

The song’s musical arrangement is everything that punk rock purists love about the genre. The frenetic energy is there along with the half-sun/half screamed vocal style that is so common to the genre. Making for even more interest is a very brief cameo vocal appearance from SCL Punk writer/director James Merendino in the song’s opening.

The lyrical theme featured in ‘Underground Guy’ is just as familiar as the song’s musical content. It ruminates on the fate of punk rock, at times coming right out and accusing the genre and so many of its bands of selling out and going mainstream.
