SandJam 2020 Announces Giant Lineup, Bring Party to Panama City

On November 26 the  , the lineup for the 2020 edition of SandJam was announced to the
public. Held on the white sand beaches of Panama City Beach, this festival in its third year
brings the best in alternative rock to the Florida Panhandle, ensuring one of the best parties of
the year. With the previous success of the past two years, this bill only gets bigger and better,
and with over 20 bands across multiple stages, this is definitely the case for 2020.
Headlining Friday night is Jacksonville, Florida natives Shinedown. Led by Brent Smith on
vocals and Zach Myers on guitar, this foursome has been tearing up the rock charts for the past
18 years, and has 14 number one singles and ten million record sales to prove it. Along with
their music, the band is known for one of the best shows on the road, leaving an impact on
every place they visit. Providing support for them is a bill that signifies the growing nature of
this festival, with The Struts, Rival Sons, Lovelytheband, and Dorothy leading the way. Overall,
this promises to provide a great start to the weekend and get the party started on day one.
Saturday night will be headlined by 311. Formed in 1988 by lead singer Nick Hexum, this
five-piece band from Omaha, Nebraska has been making hit after hit for the past 30 years with
their iconic mix of alternative rock and reggae. Given their unique style, they are guaranteed to
make for a fun night for those in attendance, and will have the stage set for them by some of
the best up-and-coming bands in rock. Providing direct support is Nashville-based hotshots
Judah and The Lion, who are enjoying a meteoric rise since starting in 2011, with Skillet, Sir Sly,
and The Hip Abduction earlier in the day.

Sunday night is closed out by alternative rock legends Weezer. Known for their
combination of alt-rock fun and charming nerdiness, this band led by Rivers Cuomo on vocals
has been on top of the mainstream rock charts for 25 years and counting. Preparing for their
summer stadium run with Green Day and Fall Out Boy, this will be one of the only chances this
summer to see them as a headliner, which is a slot they have deserved to have with years of
success under their belt. Directly opening for them is the New York-based pop trio of brothers
AJR, who, despite not hitting the mainstream until 2012, has become a force almost overnight
in the music scene. Earlier in the day also promises to provide something for everyone with
Manchester Orchestra, White Reaper, and The Steel Woods amongst those bands providing

Outside of the music itself, there is plenty to enjoy with the other offerings. A wide
selection of food, drink, and experiences will be offered across the festival grounds, but the
most notable feature of this festival is its location. Held at the M.B. Miller Pier in Panama City
Beach, this festival provides picturesque views of the Gulf of Mexico with main stages on
alternate ends of the grounds and side stages in between. On the location and how it all came
together, SandJam COO Mark Sheldon says, “Transforming the M.B. Miller Pier area into a
music venue is fascinating. We lay hundreds of sheets of DuraDeck, the same material used by
the military to build temporary roads, on the sand to accommodate heavy equipment moving

tons of gear, staging, sound and lights into place. The same material acts as sidewalks to help
with accessibility during the festival.”

Overall, SandJam promises to provide three days of fun on the white sands of the Gulf
of Mexico on the final weekend of April, with dozens of legendary and up-and-coming bands
leaving their mark on those in attendance. Led by Shinedown, 311, and Weezer, there is
something for everybody in Panama City. SandJam executive producer Rendy Lovelady says,
“To be able to hit the ground running with a lineup like this is incredible. The headliners alone
have over 12 million social media followers, so we’re anticipating thousands of avid fans
heading to PCB in April.” Tickets are on sale now for $129 over the three days, with VIP and
Cabana passes also available. All of these come with layaway options, as well as a military
discount on GA tickets. Make sure to get your tickets now, as these prices won’t last long, and it
will surely be a weekend to remember.
