Starset Debuts ‘Leaving This World Behind’ Lyric Video

Sept. 24 — Starset is giving audiences another preview of its next album.

The band premiered the lyric video for its new single, ‘Leaving This World Behind’ Thursday. The song and video are the second from the band’s forthcoming album, Horizons, which is scheduled for release Oct. 22 through Fearless Records. The band premiered the album’s lead single, ‘The Breach’ and its video early this month.

The musical arrangement featured in ‘Leaving This World Behind’ is different from that of ‘The Breach.’ Where ‘The Breach’ was more of a pure metalcore style song, this song is more emocore in its approach. That is save for the djent breakdown near the song’s end.

No information is provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the press release announcing the lyric video’s premiere. Looking at the lyrics presented on screen, it is inferred that the song is a positive love song. That is especially inferred through the positive vibes in the song’s musical arrangement.

Speaking of the lyric video, it is presented in a unique fashion. Instead of placing the song’s lyrics front and center as so many lyric videos do, this video places the song’s lyrics in the lower right hand corner of the video as the visuals take center stage. The visuals in question immediately conjure thoughts of the special effects used when space traveling vehicles travel at warp speed. Bookending all of that is a young man who is plugged into a monitor, watching the visuals as they play.

In other news, Starset is scheduled to launch a tour in November in support of Horizons. The tour is scheduled to launch Nov.3 in Asheville, NC and to run through Dec. 18 in Cleveland, OH.
