March 17 — The Black Moods debuted the video for its latest single this week.
The band premiered its new single, ‘Saturday Night’ and its companion video Friday. The song is featured in the band’s forthcoming album, Into The Night, which is scheduled for release June 3. The debut of the new single and video follows that of the band’s then latest single ‘She Gets Out‘ and its companion video in late November. Both singles are featured in the band’s new album.
The musical arrangement featured in ‘Saturday Night’ is very similar in its stylistic approach and sound to that of ‘She Gets Out.’ It has that familiar neo-classic guitar rock sound and stylistic approach. The also familiar gritty, garage rock feel is just as present in this case. It is a sound and style that will appeal widely among audiences.
Front man Josh Kelly talked about the song’s musical arrangement and lyrical theme in a prepared statement.
“‘Saturday Night’ came out of one of our late-night jams,” Kennedy said. “The groove had such a push to it, it felt like a Saturday night to us. Once we got in the studio with Johnny K. everything really fell into place and came together lyrically. Everyone usually looks forward to Saturday night, don’t they?”
The video for ‘Saturday Night’ goes along with the song’s musical and lyrical theme. It features the band on stage while Kelly plays the part of a man dreaming about having quite the fun time at a bar, seemingly on a Saturday night.
