Feb. 17 — Independent rock band The Now is set to release its new album this year, and in anticipation of its release, has unveiled a new single and video.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Devil Inside Me‘ Friday along with the song’s companion video. The musical arrangement featured in this single is instantly infectious with its garage rock style approach and high energy guitar work. The fuzz effect on the guitars and distinct vocal delivery style also gives the song something of a stoner rock vibe in the vein of Royal Blood.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the debut of the new single and video. In listening to the song and watching the video, listeners are left to infer that perhaps the theme centers on the matter of dealing with one’s personal inner demons.
Speaking of the video, it features on one half, the band performing its new single in a studio setting that is flooded with red light. The light is meant to help illustrate the message in the lyrical theme. The other half of the video features a man dealing with some sort of inner struggle.
