March 1 – Independent rock band Joetown debuted its take on a timeless AC/DC classic this week, along with a companion video for the cover.

The band premiered its cover of AC/DC’s ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock n’ Roll)’ Wednesday along with a companion video. The song is available to stream and download here. The group’s take on the classic stays very true to its source material, from the guitars and bass right down to the specific straight forward 4/4 drum line and the gritty vocal delivery.

The video that accompanies the song features footage of the band performing at a pair of parades in New England in 2022. One of the parades is the St. Patrick’s Day parade in New Haven CT. The other is the parade celebrating the 350th anniversary of Wallingford CT.

Joetown’s take on the song and its video have proven so successful that AC/DC’s original manager, Michael Browning, and drummer Chris Slade applauded them.

Said Browning, “Good to see this band called Joetown, from another generation and continent, do a very authentic and respectful retake of the iconic AC/DC video that I was involved in ‘Long Way To The Top’”.

Slade, who previously played drums for AC/DC said simply, “Great Pipes!”

In related news, Joetown is scheduled to take part in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parades March 11 and 12 in Hartford and New Haven, CT respectively. The band has a hometown show scheduled to take place March 17 in Wallingford, CT.
