April 27 — Calibro 35 is set to release its latest album this summer.
The instrumental electronic music act is scheduled to release its new album, Nouvelles Aventures June 30 through Virgin Records Italy/Record Kicks. In anticipation of the record’s release, the group premiered the album’s lead single, ‘Extraordinaire‘ last month.
The nearly six-minute opus is a unique composition to say the least. The use of what sounds like a wah pedal alongside the keyboard line and strings gives the song a very retro 1960s style sound and style while still somehow managing to make the song sound just as modern as retro. That balance of old school meets modern makes the song fully engaging and entertaining throughout its five minute, 44-second run time.
The release of Calibro 35 ‘s album will come almost 4 years after the release of the group’s then latest album of original work, Momentum. The group released two tribute albums to famed composer Ennio Morricone last year.
