Details Announced For Upcoming Issue Of ‘Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers’

May 11 — The story of “The Vessel,” the latest evil minion that Rita Repulsa has “employed” in her efforts to take over Earth, deepens in the next issue of Boom! Studios’ Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers comic book series.

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers #108 is scheduled for release May 17 in comic stores and digitally. Issue #108 opens with a flashback reminding readers how the Power Rangers’ longtime nemesis first found “The Vessel,” which as it has already been revealed, is the body of the Power Rangers’ mentor, Zordon. From there, the story flashes forward with the Rangers fighting Rita’s monstrous forces, but “The Vessel,” who Rita intends to use as a body for Dark Spectre — audiences will recall Dark Spectre was the biggest of the big bads in the Zordon era of the Power Rangers TV series — is ignoring the combat. It makes its way to the command center, opening the door, and sets off the latest chapter of the Power Rangers’ current conflict.

Eventually “The Vessel” is forced to make a difficult decision as to its alliances. Will it continue to serve Rita or will it take the Rangers’ side in the ongoing battle of good versus evil?

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers Issue #108 was written by Melissa Flores (Power Rangers, The Dead Lucky). Flores was joined by the team of artist Marco Renna (Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers), colorist Francesco Segala (House of Slaughter, The Expanse) with assistance by Gloria Martinelli and letterer Ed Dukeshire (The Woods, Irredeemable).

The issue’s variant covers were designed by Suspiria Vilchez, Taurin Clarke, and Bon Bernardo.
