May 24 — Veteran prog-rock band Yes has kicked off the new week with the debut of the video for its latest single.
The band debuted the video for its single, ‘Circles of Time‘ Wednesday. The song is the third single from the band’s brand new album, Mirror to the Sky, which was released Friday through InsideOut Music. The album has also produced the singles, ‘All Connected‘ and ‘Cut From The Stars‘.
The new video features the lyrics for the band’s new single against various visuals, such as clocks, calendar pages, and galaxies as the song plays over the visualization. The musical arrangement that is presented in the new single is a stark contrast to those in the song’s predecessors. Instead of the more energetic works that those songs prove to be, this arrangement is far gentler, almost in the vein of a lullaby or the softest of ballads.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme. The lyrics provided with the video hint at someone who is waxing existential and at the same time, perhaps mourning the loss of a loved one. That is just this critic’s interpretation.
