June 30 — Independent rock band Cavo debuted a brand new single this week, along with its companion video.
The band unveiled its new single, ‘Comes Back On‘ and the song’s video Thursday. The new single is an interesting new offering from the band, especially in the way of its musical arrangement.
The arrangement is of such interest in part because of the contrast of sounds and styles in the bass and guitar lines. At points throughout the song, the pairing of the two lines evoke thoughts of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s timeless song, ‘Crossfire’ in the verse. As the song progresses though, audiences can hear influence of Red Hot Chili Peppers, too. The song’s choruses meanwhile, are more in the vein of a modern rock composition. The whole makes the song overall such an interesting composition that is sure to keep audiences engaged and entertained.
Front man Casey Walker talked about the creation of the song’s musical arrangement in a prepared statement.
“This was the song that I feel took the most work,” Walker said. “The demo was done a while ago, and it had just fallen off my radar. A song like this really makes me appreciate the band and the relationship that we have. We worked really hard to get this one to a point where everyone was happy w/ it.”
Walker added, “The groove of this song really stands out to me and pushed me to try and write something that pushes back against it, but in a complimentary way. After all these years, it still amazes me that I can walk into a studio completely unsure of a song and walk out extremely happy and content w/ the final outcome,”
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the debut of the new single and video. Lyrics were not provided with the video, either.
Speaking of the song’s video, it is its own unique presentation. It is an animated feature that finds the band performing its single somewhat in the vein of the video for none other than Ah-Ha’s timeless classic ‘Take On Me.’
‘Comes Back On’ is just the latest single to be released by Cavo lately. The band debuted its cover of New Order’s ‘Bizarre Love Triangle‘ and the song’s companion video in May. That premiere came less than a month after the band debuted its new, original single, ‘The Shakes‘ and its companion lyric video.
