July 14 — Beastie Boys’ 1998 album Hello Nasty will get the re-issue treatment later this summer.
Officials with Universal Music Group announced Friday, the album, which was originally released July 14, 1998 through Capitol Records, will be re-issued on a 4LP deluxe vinyl pressing Sept. 8. Capitol Records is a division of Universal Music Group.
The deluxe pressing was originally released in 2009 and featured 21 bonus tracks as well as a coffee table book to add to the re-issue’s appeal. Since that initial re-issue, it has been out of print, making September the first time that the album will have been re-issued since then.
Hello Nasty produced four singles, ‘Intergalactic,’ ‘Body Movin’,’ ‘The Negotiation Limerick File,’ and ‘Remote Control/Three MCs and One DJ.’ It earned the trio two Grammys and an MTV Video Vanguard Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition, the album would go on to sell seven million copies worldwide.
