July 20 — Independent publishing company Fantagraphics is scheduled to release a new retrospective on famed comedian Ernie Kovacs next week in book form.
Ernie in Kovacsland: Writings, Drawings, and Photographs From Television’s Original Genius is scheduled for publication Tuesday. The new, forthcoming presentation is a 284-page coffee table book. It features never-before-seen material from Kovacs’ estate’s archives. Among those previously unreleased items that make up the book are excerpts from magazine articles, books, TV scripts, and columns. Various illustrations that Kovacs drew are also featured in the retrospective along with never-before-seen photographs.
The new book was co-written by Josh Mills (son of Edie Adams) and Pat Thomas. It can be ordered now here.
