Jag Panzer Debuts Video For New Single, ‘Prey!’

NewsJag Panzer Debuts Video For New Single, ‘Prey!’

July 28 — More than a month after releasing its new album, The Hallowed, Jag Panzer has premiered the video for another of the album’s songs.

The band debuted the video for its new single, ‘Prey!‘ Friday. The song and its video are the album’s fourth behind its most recently release single, ‘Edge of a Knife,‘  ‘Stronger Than You Know‘ and ‘Onward We Toil‘.

The video for the band’s new single is a straight forward presentation, featuring the band on what is meant to look like a stage, performing its new single. As the band performs, the pages from the comic book that inspired the band’s new album are presented on a large screen behind the band.

The song’s musical arrangement features all of the power metal leanings for which the band has come to be known throughout its catalog, from the soaring vocals to the rich guitars and steady rhythm section.

Guitarist Mark Brody talked about the song’s arrangement and its story in the bigger picture of the album’s concept during a recent interview.

“‘Prey!’ is probably the band’s favorite song to rehearse,” Brody said. “The quick riff is lots of fun to play live! In the album concept this is where the panthers kill a family so that the team can take their supplies. We wanted something a bit different for this song, so there is no solo and the structure is much different from the other songs. The track also showcases some of our more unique influences. For example, the main riff in ‘Prey!’ ends on 4. We don’t do that a lot in our music but some of our very early (young teens) influences such as The Runaways’ ‘Cherry Bomb’ ends the riff on 4.”
