July 6 — Fans of Paul McCartney and The Beatles will get a new chance to learn the back stories of some of his and The Beatles’ greatest songs later this year.
Liveright Publishing is scheduled to re-issue The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present Nov. 7 in paperback. Originally published in 2021, the 624-page book examines the lyrics to dozens of songs from McCartney’s career, both solo and as a member of The Beatles. The songs in question include and are not limited to the likes of: ‘A Day in the Life,’ ‘Eight Days A Week’ and ‘Helter Skelter.
Included in the new paperback publication are seven songs not included in the book’s hardcover publication. They are: ‘Bluebird,’ ‘Daytripper,’ ‘English Tea,’ ‘Every Night,’ ‘Hello Goodbye,’ ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ and ‘Step Inside Love.’
The book’s forward was penned by McCartney himself. Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Paul Muldoon presents the book’s introduction and edited the book.
The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present earned acclaim from a handful of outlets upon its original publication in 2021. Barnes & Noble Booksellers and Waterstone each named the collection their “Book of the Year”. The book will retail for $30 in its forthcoming publication.
