July 21 — Independent hard rock/metal outfit Repentance unveiled the second single from its new album, The Process of Human Demise, and the song’s companion lyric video this week.
The band kicked off the weekend by premiering its new single, ‘Buried By Fear‘ and the song’s lyric video Friday. The song is the album’s second single behind ‘Withered and Decayed,‘ which the band debuted in May.
The Process Of Human Demise was originally scheduled for release Aug. 4 but according to information provided about the debut of the album’s new single, the record is now slated for release Sept. 1 and will release through Noble Demon.
The musical arrangement featured in Repentance’s new single immediately exhibits influence of the likes of Hatebreed, Terror and Darkest Hour. As it progresses however, the arrangement shows just as much influence from the likes of thrash kings, Testament. The balance of those influences makes for plenty of engagement and entertainment.
Guitarist Shaun Glass discussed the song’s arrangement in a prepared statement.
“When we first started up the early jams of this song I knew it was something special & 100% was going to be a absolute bruiser of a song,” Glass said. “Fast forward to June at the return of Milwaukee Metal Fest we debuted the song live for everyone and it was quite the response and for us as well! I can 100% say this track will punch you in the throat but in a good way!”
Front man Adam Gilley built on Glass’ comments and addressed the song’s lyrical theme in doing so.
“‘Buried by Fear’ is a smash to the face right from the start,” Gilley said. “It has the thrash and the groove to keep you moving. The song is about the fear of the unknown, the fear of death. Not knowing what is to be offered on the other side.”
