Aug. 2 — With less than a month before Derek Sherinian and Simon Phillips release their new live recording, Sherinian/Phillips Live, the duo has unveiled another clip from the forthcoming presentation.
The pair premiered the live clip of ‘Inertia‘ Monday. The clip is the recording’s second, behind ‘Aurora Australis,‘ which the musicians debuted in late June. As with that clip, the performance featured in the new clip was captured Aug. 22, 2022 at The Grape in Ventura, CA.
Phillips rudimentary skills are on full display throughout the performance, as is Sherinian’s keyboard wizardry, once again. Fellow musicians Ron “Bumblefoot” Thaal (guitar) and Ric Fierabracci (bass) add their own welcome touch to the full-on instrumental performance, too.
Sherinian/Phillips Live is scheduled for release Aug. 25 through InsideOut Music. It will release on vinyl, CD digipack and standard CD platform. The performance featured in the recording was captured Aug. 22, 2022 at The Grape in Ventura, CA.
