Genya Ravan Albums To Get CD, Vinyl Re-Issues

-

Aug. 15 — Two albums from rocker Genya Ravan will get the re-issue treatment this year.

Ravan’s albums, Urban Desire (1978) and its follow-up, …And I Mean It (1979), are scheduled to be re-issued Aug. 18 through Bob Frank Distribution (BFD)/The Orchard. Urban Desire will be released separately on CD and two vinyl pressings, one red and one black. …And I Mean It will be available on CD and separate black and pink vinyl pressings.

Born Genyusha Zelkowitz in 1940 in Poland, Ravan is a survivor of the Holocaust. Her 2004 memoir, Lollipop Lounge: Memoirs of a Rock and Roll Refugee, tells the story in depth. The story also includes the telling of the road she took on her road to stardom, from dealing with the “boys club” of the music industry to taking part in a handful of bands that would make their own mark in the industry.
