Aug. 18 — Independent punk outfit Harker is taking on its nation’s politicians in its new single.
The British band debuted its new single, ‘Medicine‘ and its companion video Friday. The song’s musical arrangement is an energetic, up-tempo composition the blends influences of Rancid with the fuzzed punk sounds of the 90s for a whole that is uniquely engaging and entertaining.
According to a statement from the band, the song’s lyrical theme is a political commentary about how British politicians handled things in the band’s home nation following the COVID-19 pandemic.
“‘Medicine’ is a furious protest anthem pushing back against politicians cashing out on the misery of working class people and capturing the anger of a country currently rifting through a class struggle,” the statement reads.
The song’s video puts the band on what is meant to be a live setting as the song plays over the visualization. Various video effects are used to enhance the presentation.
