KK’s Priest Debuts New Album’s Third Single, Video

Aug. 25 — KKs Priest gave audiences yet another preview of its forthcoming album, The Sinner Rides Again, this week as the countdown continues to the album’s release.

The preview came Friday in the form of the new single, ‘Strike of the Viper‘ and the song’s companion video. ‘Strike of the Viper’ is the third single from the record, which is scheduled for release Sept. 29 through Napalm Records. The band premiered the album’s latest single, ‘Reap The Whirlwind‘ and its companion video last month. Its premiere was preceded by that of the record’s lead single, ‘One More Shot at Glory‘ and the song’s companion video, also last month.

As with its predecessors, the new single once again puts the band’s power metal prowess on full display. The comparison to music from Judas Priest and Saxon are once again as evident as ever throughout thanks to the instrumentation and vocals.

Band founder and guitarist KK Downing hinted in a brief statement that the song’s lyrical theme hints at a topic of mental health.

“Beware – ‘Strike Of The Viper’ is now here…,” Downing said. “These demons can sting and bite their way into your brain, what world are they from?”

The video for the band’s new single is a familiar style presentation. It crosses live footage of the band on stage with footage of the band on a sound stage meant to resemble the band in a live setting. The song plays over the visualization as it plays out.

In other news, the band launched a tour in support of its forthcoming album early last month. A series of live dates with Burning Witches and Paul Di’Anno is scheduled for October. The upcoming dates are noted below along with a festival date in December and a series of dates in March 2024.
