Aug. 22 — The Hangmen will tentatively release its first new album in four years next month.
Stories To Tell is scheduled for release Sept. 8 through Acetate Records. In anticipation of the album’s release, the band will launch a European tour Sept. 13 in Paris, France. The tour, will run more than a month, winding down Oct. 14 in Messancy, Belgium and also features stops in Sun Como, Italy; Prague, Czech Republic and Madrid, Spain.

The Hangmen premiered its new album’s lead single, ‘Midnight Riders‘ this past April. The song’s musical arrangement is an engaging and entertaining composition that easily lends itself to comparison to works from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and Neil Young.
Band member Bryan Small talked about the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement:
“’Midnight Riders’ is a rite of passage song,” Small said. “It’s the way my friends and I lived in our early days navigating life, being in bands and coping with everything as kids in Hollywood. We didn’t have boundaries. We didn’t have mentors. We were notoriously fucked up geniuses in our eyes. I’m not surprised by the path we took for ourselves – some made it, some moved home and some died.”
