Sept. 24 — Nova Rex is pulling back the curtain on its history through a new documentary.
The band recently premiered its new presentation, Nova Rex: Ain’t Easy Staying Cheesy through Amazon Prime. The documentary is being presented through a partnership between the band and Bayview Entertainment.
The one hour, 15-minute documentary tells the story of the veteran hair metal act through the band members’ own words and through footage of the band on- and off-stage. The documentary’s trailer is streaming here.
The premiere of Nova Rex’s new documentary comes more than a year after the band premiered the video for its then latest single, ‘Time Is Up For You.’ Bassist/founding member Kenny Wilkerson also published a cookbook titled Rockin’ Recipes for Autism Volume 1 in 2020.
The 127-page book features recipes from well-known rock and metal artists and acts, such as Stone Sour, Ozzy Osbourne, and Queensryche.
A portion of proceeds from book sales will benefit the nonprofit agency We Rock For Autism. The organization, formed in March 2014, provides music therapy for those with autism, raises awareness about autism through concerts, and even provides sensory-friendly movie screenings for autistic audiences.
