Tesseract Debuts Lyric Video For New Single, ‘Echo’; Tour Underway

Oct 4 — Prog-metal outfit Tesseract unveiled the video for its latest single this week.

The band debuted the lyric video for its new single, ‘Echo‘ Wednesday. The song and its video are the third from the band’s brand new album, War of Being, which was released Sept. 15 through KScope. The band premiered the album’s lead single/title track and its video in August. Their debut was followed up with the premiere of the album’s second single, ‘Legion’ and its companion video.

The video for TesseracT’s new single features the song’s lyrics over visuals of “The Strangeland,” the world in which War of Being‘s concept takes place. The heavy unique prog-metal arrangement is of note because even with all of the band’s familiar heaviness, there is also some symphonic leaning here and even the most subtle pop leaning that adds to the arrangement’s unique identity, and in turn its engagement and entertainment.

Front man Daniel Tompkin discussed the song’s musical arrangement in a prepared statement.

“This has always been a hard-hitting song and it adds a real dynamic to the album,” Tomkin said. “As a stand-alone track, it exudes feelings from the heights of euphoria but also the depths of desperation. There’s a real sense of frustration and regret throughout, especially as the song climaxes with its brutal admission.”

Tomkin also addressed the song’s lyrical theme in his discussion.

“The concept of ‘Echoes’ is based around one of our main characters, ‘El’ and ‘The Scribe,’ Tompkin said. “They play a major part in the concept and game as The Scribe is a splintered part of El’s ego that has the ability to control destiny and rewrite the past.”

The game which Tomkin mention is an actual game that audiences can download and play now here. The game follows the story featured in the new album and features the band’s music.

In other news, TesseracT launched a tour in support of War of Being Thursday in Charlotte, NC. The tour is scheduled to run through Nov. 13 in Nashville, TN and includes stops in cities, such as Spokane, WA; Austin, TX and Denver, CO.
