Nervous Eaters Debuts New Single, ‘Talkk,’ Video

Nov. 17 — The Nervous Eaters premiered its latest single and video over the weekend.

The band debuted its new single, ‘Talkk‘ and the song’s companion video Friday. The song’s musical arrangement is, like that of its predecessor, ‘Kelly’s Sixteen,‘ very much a catchy pop rock style composition. The distinct guitar riffs and production give the song a clear 80s pop rock influence.

The song’s lyrical theme takes the band in a different direction than that of ‘Kelly’s Sixteen,’ which itself focuses on teen mental health. This time out the band tackles the equally familiar topic of lost love.

Front man Steve Cataldo talked at length about the song’s lyrical story.

The narrative explains a boyfriend’s loss of contact with the love of his life,” Cataldo said. “He desperately tries to find her. Endlessly looking through social media, constantly walking the city streets searching the old romantic places they used to hang out, unrelenting in his promise to find her. He finally pleads with all his friends, who knew them both as a couple, to pass on this message should they ever hear from her. “Please tell her I was wrong, that I have changed my ways, and if she comes back home, there will be a brand new man here for her to find”.

Cataldo continued, “In the end…despite all the boyfriend’s searching, he never finds her, thus he has to live with the endless regret of realizing, much too late, that each person’s idea of love is unique unto them. That physical love by itself is never enough. That listening, patience and unconditional caring is the “Real Love”, everyone is looking for. Everything else is just TALKK.”

The video for Nervous Eater’s new single is, as with that used in ‘Kelly’s Sixteen,’ mostly composed of footage of the band on stage as the song plays over the visualization.
