Dec. 14 — Officials with record label ABKCO announced in July, plans to re-issue The Rolling Stones’ singles collection, 40 Licks, in January on vinyl.
Now months after that announcement, officials have announced plans to release another collection of the band’s singles in February on vinyl in the form of The Rolling Stones Singles 1966-1971. Set for release Feb. 2, the limited edition 18-disc collection is the follow-up to the label’s previously released Rolling Stones singles collection, Singles 1963-1966.
The music spread across the separate 7″ vinyl discs was remastered by Grammy(R) Award-winning engineer Bob Ludwig. They are accompanied by rare b-sides, period-correct picture sleeve art, and a 32-page book with notes crafted by Nigel Williamson as well as rare photos. In addition, the set also features a poster and five photo cards. This is all housed in a hard-shell box.
