Jan. 10 — Music collective The Tibbs debuted its latest single and video this week.

The neo-soul outfit premiered its new single, ‘Give Me A Reason‘ and the song’s companion video Wednesday. The song is the second single from the group’s forthcoming album, Keep It To Yourself, which is scheduled for release Jan. 26 through Record Kicks. The group debuted the album’s lead single, ‘Ain’t It Funny‘ in December.

The musical arrangement featured in the group’s new single immediately takes audiences back to the glory days of Motown with its combined guitar line, horns, and distinct sound from its rhythm section alongside the soulful vocals. At the same time, the song still manages to hold its own identity even with that obvious vintage influence.

No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme and no lyrics were provided with the song’s video. From what can be understood in listening to the song, it is sung from the vantage point of a woman who has become quite frustrated with a man. It would seem the woman in question feels like he has taken her for granted. This is just this critic’s interpretation.

The video for the group’s new single features a woman dancing to the song in an empty room as the song plays over the simple visualization.
