Feb. 6 — The Dollyrots continued the push for its latest album, Night Owls Tuesday with the premiere of the lyric video for its single.
The duo debuted the lyric video for its new single, ‘Can’t Tell You Why’ Tuesday. The song is featured in the band’s album, which was released last year through Wicked Cool Records. The record has also produced the singles, ‘I Just Wanna Play Dead,’ ‘5+5,’ ‘Tonight With You,’ ‘Hot Mom With The Skinny Pants On,’ ‘Alligator,’ ‘When We’re Sober,‘ Hey Girl,’ and the album’s lead single/title track.
The musical arrangement featured in the new single is a catchy, “poppy” composition whose driving energy and sound easily makes it comparable to works from the likes of The Donnas and other female fronted pop punk acts.
According to vocalist Kelly Ogden, the song tackles the familiar topic of depression and mental health in its lyrical content.
“This one’s for anyone who’s felt alone or experienced depression in solitude,” said Ogden. “Not knowing why you’re feeling so down but very much knowing it’s real and tangible. But hopefully looking beyond that and doing everything you can to just smile and get to the next day. Because maybe you’ll get lucky and wake up happy, something we believe is possible for everyone.”
In other news, The Dollyrots’ push to support its new album will continue this spring with a tour alongside Gymshorts. The tour is scheduled to launch March 7 in Cudahy, WI and to run through May 16 in Cleveland, OH. One more additional date May 4 in Tampa, FL is also scheduled.

The band wrapped a brief tour alongside Bowling For Soup last month across Florida from Jan. 21-28.
