March 26 — Peter Gabriel’s 2014 concert recording Back To Front will see the light of day again this spring in a new 4K presentation.
Originally released in June 2014 through Mercury Studios (nee Eagle Rock Entertainment) on DVD, Blu-ray and CD in various combinations, it is set for its first-ever 4K release May 10 through Mercury Studios. The concert was a performance by Gabriel and the original touring band that performed his iconic album, So, in October 2013 at the famed O2 Arena in London.
The forthcoming re-issue is in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the initial release of So. Originally released in May 1986 through Virgin Records and Charisma Records, So has gone on to earn Platinum status five times over in the United States and three times over in the United Kingdom. It produced five singles, perhaps the most notable of which is the timeless classic, ‘Sledgehammer.’
The track listing for the forthcoming 4K re-issue of Back To Front is the same as its previous release. It will feature a bonus featurette which centers on the creation of the group’s live show.
In anticipation of the recording’s release, a live clip of the band performing ‘Secret World‘ from the concert is streaming now.
