May 9 — Punk rock outfit Ultrabomb gave audiences their first preview of the group’s new record this week.

The band — Greg Norton (Husker Du), Finny McConnell (The Mahones), and Jamie Oliver (UK Subs) — unveiled its new single, ‘Rage Bomb‘ Friday. The song is the lead single from the group’s forthcoming album, Dying To Smile, which is scheduled for release June 7 through DC-Jam Records.

The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is a melodic composition. At the same time, the stylistic approach is still purely punk with some comparison to works from the likes of Rancid possible.

No information about the song’s lyrical theme was provided in the news release announcing the song’s premiere.
