May 9 — Anvil offered audiences another preview of its forthcoming album this week.
The band debuted its new single, ‘Truth Is Dying‘ Friday. The song is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album, One and Only, which is scheduled for release June 28 through AFM Records. Its premiere follows that of the album’s lead single, ‘Feed Your Fantasy.’
The musical arrangement featured in the band’s new single is a vintage rock style composition much like its predecessor. Listeners can easily make comparison to works from the likes of Motorhead and AC/DC here, what with its blues-based rock approach and distinct Lemmy Kilmister-esque vocal delivery style.
No information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the new single’s debut. However, a comment from front man Steve “Lips” Kudlow joins with the song’s lyrics to hint at it being a social commentary of sorts.
Kudlow said of the album’s overall lyrical content, “We’ve dropped all more modern aspects, particularly the 90s version of Anvil. No sexual topics and no thrash speed songs like they featured on past albums.”
