July 23 — The Lonely Ones unveiled its latest single this week.
The band premiered its new single, ‘The Bottom’ Tuesday. The song’s musical arrangement is an interesting work, opening with a subtle, bluesy approach. From there, the band launches into a composition that balances elements of neo-classic rock and modern rock. There is a certain melancholy to the arrangement, even in its infectious approach.
The song’s lyrical tm me is a commentary about the impact of alcoholism and the disease itself, according to front man Marty McCoy.
“We live in a world where alcohol flows like a great river,” said McCoy. “It’s easy to drown in that river. We try our best to stay afloat.”
‘The Bottom’ is the second single released by The Lonely Ones this year. The band debuted its then latest single, ‘My God‘ in March.
In other news, The Lonely Ones has a new North American tour scheduled to launch Aug. 8 in West Chicago, IL. The tour, which focuses mainly on the Midwest and on Florida, is scheduled to run through Oct. 9 in Kansas City, MO and also includes stops in cities, such as Columbus, OH; Denver, CO and Madison WI. A pair of dates in the Southeast is scheduled Sept. 6 in Greenville, SC and Sept. 7 in Columbus, GA.
The tour’s schedule is noted below. It follows the recently wrapped tour that spanned Apr. 6-July 20. The band joined Saving Abel for that tour.
