Nov. 20 — Killswitch Engage will release its next album early next year.
The band announced this week, it is scheduled to release its new album, This Consequence Feb. 21 through Metal Blade Records. In anticipation of the album’s release, the band debuted the lyric video for the record’s lead single, ‘Forever Aligned’ Wednesday. The video is a familiar style presentation, featuring live footage of the band as the song and its lyrics are played over the visualization.
The song’s musical arrangement is a heavy, intense work that throws back to earlier KsE records from the early 2000s, which is certain to appeal to plenty of the band’s established audiences.
The song’s lyrical theme is an existential musing of sorts, according to a prepared statement from front man Jesse Leach.
“”‘Forever Aligned’ is one of those songs that is not just about us as humans, our love, and connection, but that connection to the unknown, the greater power, the universe, or God,” said Leach. “It feels like a really good first song to release not just sonically, but lyrically, as it is all about connection. The device of the world we live in could use a lot more connectivity.”
