Jan. 8 — Pop Evil is offering audiences another preview of its forthcoming album, What Remains this week.
The preview came Tuesday in the form of the album’s latest single, ‘Wishful Thinking‘ and the song’s companion video. As with its predecessors, ‘Wishful Thinking’ proves to be another heavy, melodic hard rock composition. It is easily comparable in its sound and style to works from the likes of Sevendust, Saul, and The Veer Union.
Little information was provided about the song’s lyrical theme in the news release announcing the debut of the new single and video. The only hint at the song’s theme comes from a comment from front man Leigh Kakaty, who stated of the song, “Wishful Thinking’ pushes us into a realm that’s deeper, darker, and more intense than ever before.” Lyrics were not provided with the song’s video.
Speaking of the song’s video, it features Kakaty amidst a mob of anonymous figures as he performs his portion of the song. This as the song plays over the visualization.
What Remains is scheduled for release March 21 through MNRK Heavy. The album has already produced two other singles, ‘Deathwalk,’ and the album’s title track.
