Skatepunk outfit Skeetch has a new label home.

The band announced Friday, it has inked a new record deal with the independent punk label, Punkerton Records. Formed in 2021, the band cites other punk acts, such as Pennywise, Millencolin, and Bad Religion as influences. Since its formation, the band has already released three EPs, its most recent being Skeetch Or Die.

Now with its new record deal secured, the band is working on its debut album. In anticipation of the album’s release the band has premiered the record’s lead single, ‘Loose Thoughts.’ The influence of the noted bands is exhibited throughout the nearly two-and-a-half-minute composition. To that end, the familiarity in sound and style is certain to engage and entertain audiences.

bandmember Max Schlegel addressed the song’s lyrical theme in a prepared statement.

“’Loose Thoughts’ is the first single from our upcoming debut album [Will be announced at a later date], and it’s all about the random thoughts that run through your mind,” Schlegel said. “It’s a tribute to all the daydreamers out there and a reminder of how important it is to lose yourself in your thoughts, whether to spark creativity or escape negativity. It’s also about questioning everything whether it is your past, your choices, and the “what ifs” of life. What if things had turned out differently? What if everything changed? With a touch of humor, these lyrics are meant to make you reflect on your life while also reminding you not to take everything too damn seriously.”
